A real bill is rarely all one tax rate. Grocery, packaged food and household goods can land in three different slabs on the same receipt.
The rate lives on the item
In ZingBills the GST percentage is a property of the item, so it comes along automatically when the item goes into a bill. Each line computes its own discount, taxable value and tax. The bill total is the sum of lines that were each right individually, rather than a single rate applied to a mixed basket.
The period view
The GST Management screen totals it up for whatever window you choose โ invoice count, total value, taxable amount and total GST, with CGST and SGST split out and a breakdown by rate. That is the shape your accountant wants it in.
